Learning Fabric Design

Today I started an online course to learn about fabric design.  I've just started it so I can't rate it yet but I think it's going to be a steep learning curve.  I haven't worked with Adobe Illustrator, so there's that too.  I'm really excited about learning something new.  This will be one of my many summertime projects.  I'm getting ready to submit my first assignment.  Kind of fun to say that again. :)

  3. Hi Jaime, I am in the new bloggers group. I am intrigued that you are learning illustrator. I have a good friend who just had a line of fabric accepted by Andover. She tried a class in Illustrator and gave up after one class. They were expecting her to come into class with alot of techie background, and she did NOT! She was so frustrated. I design my own patterns but have always used Word for all my illustrations. I have also toyed with learning Illustrator, but I know there is such a huge learning curve that I have shied away and stayed with word, since it seems to meet my needs right now. Let me know how it goes with your illustrator class! Is it online?

    1. Yes, it is online. I have more patience in the summer when I'm not teaching first graders, so it's a good time to figure it out. Thanks for the encouragement!

  7. This sounds like a lot of fun. I can't wait to hear more about it. I have considered doing some of the same. I have a bit of Illustrator experience and while it does take practice, it is a lot of fun if you don't get frustrated. Good Luck!
